The Philippine Women's Chess Team won the gold medal in the 45th World Chess Olympiad in Category B
This is a remarkable feat, a first ever and a milestone in Philippine chess history.
On behalf of the Philippine Women's team led by Philippines' first World Woman Chess Grandmaster WGM Janelle Mae Frayna in her steadiness and good understanding of the game inspires, more so motives the team, especially her encouragement to Ruelle Canino by telling her thoughts and experiences when she was on her the same age.
Woman International Master Jan Jodilyn Fronda, who I always admire her ever dynamic and fighting spirit attitude, helps the team to be more energized.
The unexpected and decent performance of Woman FIDE Master Shania Mae Mendoza on top board makes the team to be more dependable and reliable than ever.
The backup of Woman International Master Bernadette Galas when the team needs consolidation is really invaluable to the success of the team Philippines.
And, finally, the current Philippine National Women's Champion Woman FIDE Master elect, Ruelle Canino, the rookie, but deadly. Rising above the challenges. A very determined player who wants to make a record for our nation.
We wish to convey our gratitude and thankfulness to the Philippine Sport Commission headed by PSC Chairman Richard Bachmann and Commissioner in Charge Edward Hayco for approving the Philippine assistance for team Philippines.

Once more, I will utter again, in addition to the attainment of New WFM, FM, IM, and GM for our country. The Subquent numerous tournaments won by our youth in the international scene is quite a surprise.
These accolades and recognitions will attribute to God's miracles and blessings. As our players dedicatedly trained and work so hard for their achievements. However, in the end, we put these things as divine providence.
Once again, thank you all, thank you, everyone, as all of us are part of this unprecedented achievement for winning the gold medal in world chess Olympiad, a recorded and written history, a legacy that will not be forgotten for the generations to come.
